- Easy to use. The GuppyFriend washing bag collects shredded fibres that come off in the wash. You can then easily remove and dispose of the wastes.
- Use it for your clothes, underwear and socks that are made from synthetic materials, including polyester, acrylic, nylon, spandex and fleeces.

FAQ
How is the GuppyFriend washing bag different from other washing bags?
The GuppyFriend washing bag is made with a mission to eliminate microplastic fibres in the washing. It’s made from a special structure of the yarn and its properties. The yarn of the filter material consists of a single strand of thread called monofilament, acting like a stable stick that cannot unravel and lose microplastic fibres.
In addition, the strand of yarn is round, smooth and the material is particularly resistant to alkalis. This results in a very tough and stable fabric that does not rub off and is not affected by washing detergents.
This differs from the yarns used for other textiles, which usually consist of several strands of thread that are twisted together. With use and washing, the yarns unravel over time, causing them to lose tiny microplastic fibres.
The GuppyFriend washing bag has been tested with scientific and independent institutes, including German Textile Research Centre North-West, DTNW Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT and University of California at Santa Barbara as part of the Patagonia research programme.
How many clothes can I fit in the bag?
The bag measures 50 x 74 cm. Fill up to 2 / 3, as the textiles need to move inside the bag. Don't overfill the bag.
Is it suitable for my washing machine?
Yes, it’s suitable for all washing machines. Make sure you don’t overfill the bag.
What’s the best laundry detergent to use with the bag?
We recommend using it with our laundry powder as it doesn’t leave any residuals in the wash. You can also use liquid detergent, but make sure it’s free from microplastics!
At what temperature can I wash the bag?
Maximum temperature: 40°C. We do not recommend washing hotter than 40°. In general, the warmer you wash, the shorter the life of your clothes. It also consumes more energy to heat up the water too.
